You’ve been to all the hot spots in Miami Beach and now you’re looking to for cool things to do in Miami? Hopefully you’ve covered our recommended places in Miami and now, how about someplace newly renovated and gorgeous! Let me introduce you to the new and sparkling…
Miami Design District
Miami Design District is nestled in the north of Midtown in Miami, Florida. The renovated area is home to over 130 art galleries, showrooms, creative services, restaurants and bars. The new design plan includes high end and luxurious stores like Christian Louboutin, Emilio Pucci, Celine, Cartier, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Hermes and more.
The famous 1921 Moore Building (4040 NE 2nd Avenue, at NE 40th Street) is the historical heart of the district. During the 80’s the neighborhood fell under some hard times due to crimes that drove many businesses to relocate. Now the area has become a mecca for fashionistas and luxury brand enthusiasts.
By the end of 2016, developer Craig Robins plans to have about 120 high-end tenants, hotels, sculptures, mural and 300 new trees. He looks at the Miami Design District as more like a neighborhood than a mall that will create more cool things to do in Miami.
The new area features – four-block pedestrian promenade, rooftop gardens and gorgeous shade trees. Famous eateries include Miami’s favorite culinary names like Michael Schwartz and Michelle Bernstein. Take a look at all the gorgeous pics below:
Find yourself strolling through the beautiful Miami Design District located roughly around NE 36th Street to the south, NE 43rd Street to the north, NW 1st Avenue to the west and Biscayne Boulevard (US 1) to the east.
